Our Canal Kinder program cater to families who want shorter hours, in small group environments

We are excited to share that in 2025 our 3 year old, 4 year old and multiage (3 - 4 year old) funded kindergarten programs will include Canal Kinder.

Where classroom has no walls, where the children are free to explore, play, create, build, investigate and learn outdoors, at their own pace through hands on experiential learning in nature.

Elwood canal, the man-made watercourse connecting the lower reaches of the Elster Creek with Port Phillip Bay, is unique and an integral part of the urban character and history of Elwood, running through the heart of our community, connecting and providing access to nature right on our doorstep.

Who Can Enrol

Children aged 3-5 years whose parents live or work in the City of Port Phillip.

For 3 year old kindergarten
Children must be aged 3 by 30 April (in the year they enrol)

For 4 year old kindergarten
Children must be aged 4 by 30 April (in the year they enrol)

Free Kindergarten Program

We’re part of the Vic Gov Free Kinder Program. Families enrolled in the funded kinder program will receive a fee offset of up to $2,050* per child enrolled. Visit the Vic Gov for more information about the Free Kinder Program.

Childcare Subsidy

Families can access childcare subsidies which are means tested by Services Australia.
